Work Meditation

Everyone who attends will be assigned a small work meditation to help our retreat flow smoothly. This is usually light cleaning, dishes, sanitizing, straightening up , chopping vegtables with chefor, ringing time keeping bells.

AGREE TO SELF TEST ON SITE or BEFORE ARRIVAL All practitioners, teachers, and retreat staff will take an antigen test on the opening day of a retreat upon arrival. Individuals will not be admitted to the retreat if the test result is positive for COVID.

This retreat is not mental health therapy. If you are in the midst of a crisis or emotional upheaval, this retreat may not be a good fit at this time. If you are experiencing such issues it is recommended that you consult with your therapist prior to registration. Please indicate agreement to this policy.

I understand that activities led by Flowering Lotus Meditation (FLM) including staff and members of the board of directors, and other associated programs, teachers, and instructors may release strong emotions and I accept this responsibility and the result of such emotional release. I will advise all Flowering Lotus Meditation teachers, instructors, and designated staff members of any and all physical and emotional conditions that are prone to be affected by Flowering Lotus Meditation (FLM) retreat offerings.  I agree to follow instructions carefully and to immediately stop any activity that causes me any unacceptable discomfort, emotional distress or pain. I will report this to the instructor, teachers, and designated staff members during and/or at the end of the program. I understand that mindfulness and mindful based meditations are what I am signing up for and agreeing to participate in with Flowering Lotus Meditation and associated instructors, teachers, and designated staff members. In consideration of being permitted to participate in Flowering Lotus Meditation programs and activities, I understand that the practices led by Flowering Lotus Meditation may produce a deep state of relaxation that can continue for many hours after the program is complete. I acknowledge that I may need to refrain from driving a vehicle after said practices, until I feel capable of responding to the situations that may arise while driving. I agree to assume full responsibility for all risks, injuries or damages, known or unknown, that may occur as a result of participating in such activities. I acknowledge that in recent years there have been many global impacts and changes that have affected society in a multitude of ways, including intensified mental and emotional stress. I acknowledge that these factors, and more, may affect my practice during this retreat and that practicing patience with myself, and others, on this retreat is my responsibility. When we stop the busyness of the mind, it can be common to experience emotions, in some cases with intensity. These emotions may have been present for some time, but it is common we do not recognize them until calming the mind through mindfulness practices provided by the teachers and retreat center. If I experience any extreme levels of discomfort or stress I will immediately inform a teacher, staff, or retreat manager for further instruction. I release the instructor, substitute instructors, assistants, facility, and Flowering Lotus Meditation, including members of the Board of Directors, from all actions, causes, claims, suits, damages and liabilities arising out of, or connected with, my participation in Flowering Lotus Meditation programs, including but not limited to, personal, physical, mental or emotional injury, illness (including death) and/or loss of property. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless all of the instructors, substitute instructors, assistants, facility, and Flowering Lotus Meditation. I, my heirs, assigns, legal representatives and spouse, if any, forever release, waive, discharge and agree not to sue any of the Providers for any injuries or damages I may sustain.I agree that this waiver will be interpreted as broadly as allowed by law, and that if part of this waiver is deemed invalid then the balance shall remain in effect.I freely and voluntarily agree to these terms and conditions even though I would not be able to participate without signing this waiver. I assert that my participation and signing is voluntary and that I assume all risks.

VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION AND RELEASE I acknowledge that I have voluntarily applied to participate in this retreat with Flowering Lotus Meditation. ASSUMPTION OF RISK I am aware that participating in this event may involve strenuous physical activities such as work meditation, yoga, stretching or movement classes, as well as risks walking on the grounds.  I am also aware that this is a silent (unless otherwise stated), intensive retreat and that participants in such retreats (whether silent or not) may experience intense and unusual psychological, spiritual, and/or physical states of mind and body arising from the meditation and associated retreat activities.  I am voluntarily participating in these activities with full knowledge of the risks involved, and hereby agree to accept any and all risk of harm that may result from these activities.  RELEASE As consideration for being permitted by Flowering Lotus Meditation to participate in these activities, I hereby agree that I, my assignees, heirs, distributes, guardians, and legal representatives will not make a claim against, sue or attach Flowering Lotus, its affiliates, board members, employees, agents or volunteers or any of its affiliated organizations for injury or damage resulting from acts, howsoever caused, by any employee, agent, or contractor of Flowering Lotus or any of its affiliated organizations as a result of my participation in this retreat, except when an employee, affiliate, or agent of Flowering Lotus exhibits gross and intentional negligence or acts in a manner which is likely to lead to my harm.  I hereby release Flowering Lotus and any of its affiliates from all actions, claims, or demands that I, my assigns, heirs, distributees, guardians and legal representatives, now or hereafter, from any claims of injury or damage resulting from my participation in this event.DISPUTE RESOLUTION Any dispute arising out of participation in this event shall be resolved solely as follows:If you have a claim, you shall first attempt to resolve any dispute by negotiation between the claimant and the Board of Directors or a designated agent of Flowering Lotus.  You shall submit your claim to the Board of Directors.  Within 15 days after delivery of a written notice of a claim, you will receive a response.  Within 45 days of your receipt of the written response, you and an agent of Flowering Lotus shall meet at a mutually acceptable time and location to resolve the dispute.  You and Flowering Lotus will continue to attempt to negotiate and come to a resolution, for up to 120 days after your initial claim.  Any dispute which has not been resolved by such mediation within 120 days after the initial claim shall be finally resolved by arbitration before a single arbitrator in accordance with the CPR Rules for Non-Administered Arbitration and the Federal Arbitration Act. KNOWING AND VOLUNTARY EXECUTION I am aware that this is a release of liability and a contract between me and Flowering Lotus Meditation, its Board of Directors, and its affiliates, and I sign it of my own free will.  I have read and understand its content.
